The Your Served military and veteran blog continues its "Why We Serve" series and seeks more individuals to contribute to the series. Contributors can receive compensation or designate a charity where a donation will be made in their name.

The You Served military blog continues its "Why We Serve" series from some of the top bloggers in the milblogging community.

"I joined the Marine Corps in the months just after September 11th. I vividly remember the images of that day, and the uncertainty on every face in my high school," writes Marcus, aka Cpl M. "My classmates and I had visions of graduation and college already in our minds, and nothing could take our focus from the end of our high school career until that day."

Marcus, along with fellow blogger CJ, were the first invited to post in the series since the duo won a milblogging contest held by You Served. The contest awarded over $5,000 in prize money to the top Milbloggers. Marcus and CJ donated their $3,000 in prize money to the Camp Lejeune Ballerinas (a non profit organization). Four other winning Milbloggers have joined these two to share their stories of why they joined the military.

You Served is seeking more contributors to add to the "Why We Serve" series. Interested individuals should send an email to the contact information provided. You Served is willing to compensate individuals for their post or make a donation to a charity in their name.
