Compact Solutions, innovator of high-performance solutions to industry's toughest data management problems, today announced it is organizing its services around vertical industries. The first of its Industry Practices has been created to serve financial services companies worldwide. To lead this group, the company has selected noted expert, Charles Leinbach. Mr. Leinbach will be Compact Solutions' Practice Director for Financial Services.

"Our goals are to help our financial services customers succeed in their large-scale data management initiatives, whether processing large transaction volumes, addressing data quality, or the analysis and storage of large datasets," said Pankaj Agrawal, Compact Solutions' chief executive officer and CTO. "Charles will play an integral role in the implementation of the processes and internal systems we have developed that are specific to the issues encountered by our financial services customers."

Why Industry Practices?

Organizing around vertical industries developed naturally from the evolution of the company's solutions. Compact Solutions began as an enterprise information integration (EII) solution provider, specialized in Ab Initio technology. EII offers the potential for large corporations to use the massive amounts of data usually residing in disparate "silos" of information throughout the enterprise. It is an important platform for businesses that need real-time access to data across disparate enterprise systems and multiple business units, to inform decision-making and develop winning strategy.

Every industry has specific business and technology characteristics that make its information requirements different from the next. These characteristics and requirements can be described by industry patterns, which can be addressed with sets of industry-specific best practices. Through many years of experience, Compact Solutions has developed industry-tailored, pattern-based, best practices in enterprise information integration. Compact has further combined its best practices with its high-performance technology to create rapidly deployable, field-tested solutions that solve industries' biggest data problems and manage massive amounts of data for real-time decision support.

"The technology solutions Compact has developed for financial services customers leverage key technologies such as compression, parallel processing, metadata management and real-time system architectures. The business cases around these solutions are very compelling," said Charles Leinbach. "Reduced data storage needs, reduced processing windows, more flexible data environments, and faster access to detail data for users and customers generate rapid return on these solutions. I'm excited about the opportunity to deliver these solutions to more financial services customers in a faster, more consistent way than is available elsewhere."
