Tamago Receives First Round of Angel Funding

Tamago (www.tamago.us), the first peer-to-peer open market, launched last October, received its first round of Angel investment because artist and customers have been gravitating to the new commerce system. It allows artist to sell digital media directly from their computers to customers all over the world, while fans earn money for distributing what they buy to others.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) March 8, 2007 -- Tamago (www.tamago.us), a San Francisco based company, received its first round of Angel investment. It first launched its service, the first peer-to-peer open market, last October. Since then, artist and customers have been gravitating to the new commerce system. It allows artist to sell digital media directly from their computers to customers all over the world, while fans earn money for distributing what they buy to others.

"We believe everyone should make money," said Joel Floyd, Tamago's Founder. It's the next step in e-commerce, integrating the customer into the distribution chain. Peer to peer technology allows Tamago to eliminate bandwidth and storage cost. When someone buys a song, a picture, or other digital media, Tamago pays the customers whose computers delivers data to the buyer. "Tamago's business model allows us to save cost, while creating a viral aspect attracting new customers," said Gary Feierbach, CEO of Tamago.

Many well known independent artists, such as Merl Saunders, Dark Hollow, and Beau Brommell, are selling their work using Tamago. It was built for both publisher and customer ease of use said Lemon O'Brien, an independent Electronica artist. "This system will bring out the artist in everyone. They charge nothing to publish and it takes less than 5 minutes. All the barriers are gone so everything from the popular to the very esoteric can find an audience."

Tamago requires a PC running Windows 2000 or XP or an Intel based Apple Computer running Parallels Desktop or Boot Camp from Apple Computer.
