Ariadne Receives Funding from Montgomery County to Facilitate the Company's Growth and Expansion

Ariadne today announced receipt of an $80,000 grant from Montgomery County's Economic Development Fund to support the company's growth and expansion. The County funding coincided with the Ariadne advancement and relocation from the Maryland Technology Development Center, the County's one of three business incubators, to new offices in Rockville, Maryland.

The County funding coincided with the Ariadne advancement and relocation from the Maryland Technology Development Center, the County's one of three business incubators, to new offices in Rockville, Maryland.

Over the last four years Ariadne has become one of the fastest growing biotechnology companies in Maryland. "We are impressed with Ariadne technology and its potential in the market place," commented Peter Bang, Chief of Finance, Adm., and Special Projects Division at Montgomery County Department of Economics Development. "To facilitate Ariadne growth and expansion, Montgomery County stands ready to assist the company in transitioning to the next growth stage".

Ariadne technology has allowed the development of software products having a unique combination of vision and expertise. Focus is on pathway analysis and automatic extraction of information from the scientific literature. Ariadne products include Pathway Studio pathway analysis software and MedScan information extraction pipeline. "These software products have utility for research scientists studying human disease and drug discovery to agriculture and animal genetics" said Dr. Ilya Mazo, President of Ariadne. "This grant will help the company get the software into more research labs throughout the world".

Ariadne new offices at 9430 Key West Avenue, Rockville, MD, are well located in the I-270 Technology corridor close to technology resources as well as to major biomedical research organizations.
