For the 4th year in a row, Severn Lodge will host the "Severn Getaway for the Cure Weekend". This ladies-only weekend is designed to raise funds to support breast cancer research for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The event is billed as an opportunity for participants to contribute to the fight against breast cancer while having a fun-filled weekend at one of Ontario's premier waterfront resorts.

The weekend has been scheduled for May 25-27, 2007 and includes renowned Canadian inspirational speaker and author Elaine Dembe. "This is a serious cause with an important message, but the weekend is designed for both the sharing of information and a chance for supporters to have some fun," says Rick Breckbill, owner of Severn Lodge (http://www.severnlodge.on.ca).

The weekend also features a welcome reception, followed by a delicious dinner and the traditional "Martini & Manicure Party." Saturday includes various other activities such as "The Bay Clinique Event," massage and reflexology sessions, wine tasting, salsa & belly dancing, yoga & pilates sessions, boat cruises, sea plane rides, horseback riding, hiking, and a full menu of outdoor recreational offerings and team events with prizes.

Severn Lodge is a wonderful venue for breast cancer fund raising because it is one of the few remaining classic Muskoka resorts in Ontario. The Lodge has all the modern conveniences and the accommodations are upscale, but the property still carries the ambiance and history of old Muskoka. Severn Lodge even has a restored classic Ditchburn motor launch that was custom built for Lady Eaton of the Eaton Department store family. Weekend participants can take a cruise around the lake on this sleek polished launch that demands attention wherever it goes.

"The weekend is filling up fast and we hope to raise a lot of money for breast cancer research," states Breckbill who is working with the organizers to plan and promote this very worthwhile event.

Packages start at $299 per person and include two nights accommodation with two breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 brunch, and 2 delicious dinners. Guests also have use of the resorts extensive recreation facilities. Attendees are required to sell 10 raffle tickets at $10 each to help generate additional funding for breast cancer research.

Severn Lodge is one of Ontario Canada's premier lakeside resorts in the heart of the world famous Muskoka - Georgian Bay lake district.
