Formerly known as the Georgetown Business and Professional Association (GBPA), the GBA has been existed for 31 years. The GBA is a non-profit, membership-based organization committed to maintaining and improving the business climate in Georgetown. Membership in the GBA offers considerable opportunity for company promotion and networking with other businesses in the area, as well as the ability to vote on important issues and strengthen the Georgetown business community. In addition to building partnerships among Georgetown businesses, the GBA also serves as a point of contact with the larger Washington business community. The GBA represents the interests of its members, monitoring all legislation considered by the DC City Council that may affect Georgetown professionals. Through various promotion initiatives, the GBA also serves to help Georgetown flourish as a place of business.

"Last year the Georgetown Business Association was honored to have outgoing Mayor Anthony A. Williams as our guest speaker and this year Washington's new mayor, Adrian M. Fenty, will address our members about business issues in our city. We are also proud to unveil the new GBA visual identity produced by Georgetown-based Unison Agency," stated Billy Martin, GBA President.

More information about joining the GBA or attending the March 14 meeting can be found at the association's website, http://www.georgetown.bz, recently developed by Georgetown based Prospect Technologies. The website offers a look into the actions and services offered by the GBA. GBA's dynamic new logo and branded marketing material were produced by Unison, who was selected due to their extensive experience in location and nation state branding.
