National Award is Icing on the Cookie Cake for Local Franchisee

Jeremy Roy, owner of six Great American Cookies named 'Operator of the Year'

(PRWEB) March 11, 2007 -- Owner of six Great American Cookies locations across Texas Jeremy Roy was named "Operator of the Year" at the national convention held in Las Vegas, Nev. on Feb. 25 through March 1. Roy owns stores located in Beaumont, Port Arthur, College Station, Victoria, Corpus Christi and Temple.

Being chosen top cookie out of the 250 Great American Cookies stores across the United States is a well-deserved honor for Roy. He began his career in cookies at the age of 19 as the assistant manager of the Great American Cookies in Alexandria, La. He then worked his way up to regional manager, and when the Texas locations in his region went up for sale, he knew it was his calling. Superior quality and commitment to service have been Roy's standards since he purchased the six locations in November 2003. Quickly on the road to success and acknowledgement for his outstanding efforts, Roy was named Great American Cookies' "Rookie of the Year" in 2004.

Roy's stores continue to embody the Great American Cookies motto of "Share the Fun of cookies!" The Beaumont/Port Arthur locations have been the Top Volume Cookie Cake stores in the country for the past two years. Roy has also had two to three of his stores consistently in the Top 15 in the nation for the past three years, based on sales volume and percent increase.

Great American Cookies' "Operator of the Year" is based on several criteria such as: store cleanliness, customer service, sales growth, advertising and community involvement. "Our stores ranked high in all these areas by the inspectors," said Roy. Advertising is a major focus of Roy's operations and the basis of a large part of the stores' success. Roy and his marketing team produce their own commercials, and are the only franchise in the nation to do so, he said. Through his own creative efforts and advertising plans, Roy came up with the Cookie Man mascot and several other promotional materials that have since been adopted by the company as a whole.
