While most ideas get shot down, who would take the time to think and list most of the reasons why? Michael Iva, an advertising creative director from Chicago, who blogs or comments daily on the advertising industry social network Adholes.com did. In fact, he not only listed 100 different ways to kill a concept. He then wrote about all the ways to prevent that from happening (an unique premise for an insightful, in-depth, and thoughtful manifesto).
As it turned out, there was not one way to kill Mr. Iva's concept. His blog gained more and more support, and with some help from the Adholes community, "100 Ways to Kill a Concept - Why Most Ideas Get Shot Down™" was voted the winner with the most viewer support at ChangeThis.com to become one of the select few manifestos they publish. And this week it was finally released to the world in its new and expanded version in PDF format.
The ideas found within Mr. Iva's manifesto relate to everyone who has ever had an idea for anything that is new, improved, unique, different, and/or better. His revolutionary approach can help people generate better concepts and then sell those concepts, thus allowing more of their concepts to have a greater chance to survive and prosper. His manifesto is A must read for every creative and idea person in the business arena.
Mr. Iva's manifesto now joins the ranks of other thought leaders like Tom Peters, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, and Hugh Mcleod, all of whom have had their own manifestos published by ChangeThis.
Adholes.com founder Marc Lefton said, "We're extremely pleased to have this honor given to one of our members. It's no coincidence that Michael is one of our most devoted and dedicated members. His manifesto is in line with the thinking of Adholes: to rally creative business people to dare to achieve greatness despite the obstacles that get placed in their way. As Michael says in his manifesto, No just means, not right now."
Adholes plans on putting its resources behind getting this manifesto spread throughout all facets of the business world through email blasts, banner ads and a viral campaign.
