Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 15, 2007
Drexel University Online, winner of the 2006 21st Century Best Practice Award for Distance Learning from the U.S. Distance Learning Association, recently announced the launch of an online educational partnership with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), a medical coding certification association that provides certified credentials to medical coders in physician offices, hospitals and outpatient centers throughout the nation.
Through this educational alliance, AAPC members will have the opportunity to complete an online degree or certificate program through Drexel and receive special tuition rates. Members can choose from a range of bachelor's, master's, and certificate programs that Drexel offers online including a Certificate in Medical Billing & Coding that is slated to begin in the Fall 2007 semester.
Drexel Online has been continually expanding its partner network for the past four years. Through a partnership with Drexel, participating corporations, health systems, schools, and professional associations across the U.S. are able to offer their employees and members such benefits as special tuition rates and career development opportunities, and the chance to earn a reputable degree all with the flexibility working professionals need.
"AAPC, like many professional associations, was founded in an effort to elevate the standards of their profession by providing certification and ongoing education opportunities to their members," said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, academic director of Drexel Online. "Collaborating with Drexel enables organizations like them to offer their members continuing education opportunities, without sacrificing quality for convenience. Drexel is looking forward to assisting AAPC in the educational development of its members and advancing the profession of medical coding overall."
