PlatformOne Named TOP FIVE End-to-End Mid-Market HR Outsourcing Provider: Makes Workforce Management HOT LIST for 2007

PlatformOne today announced that it has recently been named a TOP FIVE provider of HR Outsourcing Services in the mid-market by Workforce Management (WFM). Seven providers were named in the WFM mid-market study.

PlatformOne offers HR Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) solutions that include HR Technology, HR Administrative Services, and HR Professional Support to mid-market companies, those companies with approximately 500 to 15,000 employees.

In its State of the Mid-market HRO Industry report, Workforce Management ranked PlatformOne fifth, based on the number of client companies using an end-to-end HRO solution. Workforce ManagementÂ’s definition of end-to-end HRO requires the vendor to provide most or all HR functions for their client.

The announcement came on the heels of the annual Black Book of Outsourcing assessment of the entire outsourcing marketplace, in which PlatformOne was named the BEST HRO provider to the mid-market. Forty-seven vendors participated in that study. The Black Book of Outsourcing is published annually and analyzes nearly 900 vendors in 87 distinct outsourcing categories. Specifically to the mid-market, The Black Book on Outsourcing evaluated 47 vendors using 18 different performance criteria in its research findings on HR outsourcing providers. Most importantly, interviews were conducted with clients from each of the 47 vendors throughout 2006 and used as a key determinate for the final rankings. In its analyst reports, The Black Book of Outsourcing rated PlatformOne as the top performer in 10 of the 18 criteria, and one of the top three performers in 15 of the 18 criteria, among the 47 vendors reviewed and named in the report.

Workforce Management did not release the detailed findings or evaluation criteria for its HOT LIST. Instead, WFM focused on the trends in the mid-market. The report repeated predictions that multi-process HRO would grow 20 percent in 2006, said that the emergence of the HRO mid-market segment (companies with fewer than 15,000 employees) was contributing to the growth, and that big-name providers are starting to look for clients down in the mid-market.

Workforce ManagementÂ’s HOT LIST rankings reflected the trends it reported. Six of the seven providers named in the report released revenues of between $600M and $7B. PlatformOne was the only true mid-market provider that solely services mid-market companies on the WFM HOT LIST.

Simultaneous to the two reports being published, PlatformOne released news that it had completed 2006 with eight new clients, representing over 41,000 more employees managed under its administrative services. Seven of the eight new clients were implemented, as of the end of February 2007. Going forward, PlatformOne said its sales pipeline is growing faster than anticipated and the company is on track to add at least that many more clients by year end 2007.
