The law firm of Brayton Purcell is pleased to be a sponsor of Breath of Fresh Air, a luncheon presented by the American Lung Association of California (ALAC) to highlight women's health issues.
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) March 15, 2007 -- The law firm of Brayton Purcell is pleased to be a sponsor of Breath of Fresh Air, a luncheon presented by the American Lung Association of California (ALAC) to highlight women's health issues. More women die of lung disease than from breast, cervical or ovarian cancers combined, ALAC points out. The agency also predicts that in the next 10 to 20 years, many female baby boomers who smoke will die of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD, a term for illnesses that block and narrow the lung airways. In addition, ALAC is concerned with the high level of childhood asthma in poor areas, which puts a heavy burden on single mothers.
ALAC plans to recruit women at the luncheon to do volunteer work on lung disease, tobacco and clean air issues, and to contribute their time and talents at speaking engagements and fundraisers.
