Kid Actors Get Their Day in the Sun--CARE Awards Scheduled

CARE (Child Actor Recognition Event) honors 200 professional young performers who are "doing it right" at a start studded event at Universal Studios Hollywood. The antidote to former child actors gone bad!

(PRWEB) March 16, 2007 -- Tired of hearing about Britney, Daniel, Dakota and other "child stars behaving badly"? There is one Hollywood awards event that dispels that image and honors those child actors who are leading balanced, healthy lives (yes, they DO exist, and are in fact, the majority!). The CARE Awards, Child Actor Recognition Event is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

CARE 2007 honors nearly 200 of the industry's brightest young stars, for their positive contributions to the entertainment industry. CARE awards are be based on a unique point system where young performers (18 and younger) must qualify with a combination of professional acting work in 2006, academics, union membership, training, a written essay, community service, parent industry knowledge, and several other criteria. Awardees this year include a full slate of young stars including Dominic Janes (ER, Wild Hogs), Jason Dolley and Madison Pettis (Disney's Cory in the House), Joy Lauren (Desperate Housewives), and dozens more.

This year's red carpet event will also feature special appearances by former child star and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" alumni, Joey Lawrence, and Las Vegas extreme artist Jean Francois. A laser show will also be a part of the festivities.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bizparentz Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education advocacy and charitable support to parents and children engaged in the entertainment industry.

Members of the press and wire services wishing to cover the red carpet portion of the event are asked to request press credentials by emailing Anne Henry. Due to Universal Studios security, no press will be allowed inside the gate without credentials. Businesses wishing to sponsor the event or contribute to awardee gift bags are welcome as well, and they may also email for more information.
