Fine wine and clean oceans...Famed artist, scientist, diver, underwater videographer, and angler Guy Harvey is now producing fine wine with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Guy Harvey Research Institute.

The wines were produced in Sonoma CA by the Wade / Kerr Wine Company. The four varietals currently available are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. "Initially we were contacted by Guy to develop a wine to be served in his new restaurants," says Bill Wade, President of Wade / Kerr. "When so many diners wanted to know where they could buy the wine we recognized an opportunity to market them on a broader scale."

The Guy Harvey signature has become synonymous with compelling action and fine detail in marine wildlife art. His images are seen on fine art limited editions prints, silk screened and embroidered apparel, giftware, woven tapestry throws and even computer screen savers.

The GHRI is a scientific research organization based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, at the Oceanographic Center of Nova Southeastern University, minutes from coral reefs and popular fishing grounds. GHRI was established in 1999 as a collaboration between the renowned marine artist Dr. Guy Harvey and Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center to assume a leadership role in providing the scientific information necessary to understand and save the world's fish resources and biodiversity from drastic, ongoing declines.

Each label is a different image created by Dr. Harvey exclusively for the particular wine. "Because Guy's artwork is so well known, we're developing the line as an 'Artist Series', with different paintings and labels produced for each vintage," says Wade.

The wines are now available in Florida at most ABC Fine Wine and Spirit stores, and through Guy Harvey's web site. They will soon be available in south Florida Publix grocery stores, and throughout Maryland.
