Director/producer/writer Joe Wehinger unveiled the 2007-08 production slate for his company Picture Show Entertainment. A minimum of three projects are scheduled to move forward with Golden Globe winners James Brolin (Catch Me If You Can, Amityville Horror) and Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner, Six Feet Under) attached.
"Fall", a thriller to be directed and produced by Wehinger and written by Jeremey Duff. "Escape", a true to life prison-based thriller with James Brolin attached as producer. "Momma" is a New Orleans-based drama following French Quarter prostitution with Joanna Cassidy producing.
"Fall" is a dramatic thriller in the tone of "Taxi Driver". It follows the story of an obsessive and deranged doorman, who soon finds himself wedged in the middle of two icons: a Presidential frontrunner and a mega-rock star. When both men betray him, one will pay the price.
"Escape" is based on the real-life adventures of the Texas 7 and their thrilling escape from a maximum security prison in Texas over Christmas 2000.
"Momma" depicts 40 years of sex, murder and madness in Sin City, South. The New Orleans' District Attorney is determined to bring justice to an infamous, old murder case: the King of the Krewe's 1920 death. He struggles to separate fact from fiction as Momma's re-telling brings revelations that forever change 'the quarter.'
Brolin, Cassidy and Wehinger first teamed up in 2006 on Wehinger's writing and directorial debut "The American Standards." The indie drama shot in Louisiana and is currently awaiting release.
