We saw immediate reduction in idle time, as well as improvements on selected routes, and we have already seen improvements in our fuel consumption and we are receiving some positive feedback from our field managers
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 16, 2007
Atlanta-based Discrete Wireless, Inc. today announced that the Company has completed installation of its MARCUS® 3G GPS tracking equipment in over 375 fleet vehicles for the Batesville Casket Company. The fleet is distributed throughout 90 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Mitch Lewis, Batesville Casket District Manager, commented, "Our organization has a steadfast philosophy of continuous improvement. With the rising cost of fuel and the size of our organization's vehicle fleet, we decided to research a GPS tracking system. Our main areas of focus were to improve route efficiencies, reduce miles driven, and decrease idle time."
After almost two years of extensive evaluation, in multiple markets, and with three different GPS trial vendors, Discrete Wireless was selected as the exclusive provider with its MARCUS® GPS Fleet Management Application.
System reliability, competitive pricing and the user-friendliness of the GPS Fleet Management system were cited as the determining factors in Batesville's decision-making process.
After completing installation of the Discrete Wireless MARCUS® GPS System throughout the entire fleet, Lewis stated "We saw immediate reduction in idle time, as well as improvements on selected routes, and we have already seen improvements in our fuel consumption and we are receiving some positive feedback from our field managers".
The MARCUS® GPS Fleet Management Application was successfully piloted and marketed to Batesville Casket by Discrete Wireless Master Distributor, FleetTrax, of Dallas, Texas.
