Seven New Alternative Energy Stocks Added to Ardour Global Index in Quarterly Rebalancing
Three new stocks in AGI Extra Liquid.
New York (PRWEB) March 15, 2007 -- The Ardour Global Index (TICKER: AGIGL) will add seven new components, effective 6:00 PM (EST) Sunday, March 18. No stocks will be deleted from the index, raising the number of index components to eighty-six. The changes result from the index’s quarterly rebalancing, which allows for rapid inclusion of recent IPOs. A complete list of constituents and weights will be posted on the Ardour web site, (www.ardourglobalindexes.com/indexes_agi.php).
The Ardour Global Index is a capitalization-weighted, float adjusted index of 86 of the most prominent alternative energy stocks in the world.
All seven additions are listed in the US, although three of the companies are domiciled in China. The significant new component is First Solar, Inc., with a market capitalization of just over $4.0 billion. Other important additions are Ja Solar, with a $2.7 billion market cap and Trina Solar, with a market cap of approximately $1 billion. Ja Solar and Trina Solar are both Chinese companies listed in ADR form in the US. Many of the recent additions to the Ardour Global Index are foreign companies and more foreign stocks are expected to be added to the index in the future.
To be included in the AGIGL index stocks must pass multiple screens, including for capitalization, float, exchange listing, share price and turnover.
The AGI Extra Liquid Index (TICKER: AGIXL), which contains a fixed number of 30 stocks, had three additions against three deletions. First Solar, Ja Solar and Trina Solar were the new additions, while Motech Industries, Inc., Rentech Inc., and E-Ton Solar Tech. Co. Ltd were deleted.
