Produced by Reel Magic Films, Corrupted Minds was released nationwide on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, through Vivendi Visual Entertainment and New Light Entertainment. To promote and celebrate the release, the producers of Corrupted Minds will be screening a 35mm print of the director's cut and providing an opportunity to meet the cast and crew during an afterglow reception at D'Amanto's Restaurant in Downtown Royal, Michigan.
The reception at D'Amanto's will include a silent auction. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of South Oakland County in Michigan.
Tickets for the premiere and afterglow reception are $45. Attire is semi-formal. Included in the ticket price are the screening at the Main Art Theatre, the reception at D'Amato's and a complimentary collector's copy of the original soundtrack CD (complete with bonus DVD).
The Film is a gritty crime drama that follows four groups of people who cross the border from Canada into Detroit. The interwined stories explore themes of pride, violence, power, passion, drug abuse, racism, sexual politics and the fight for survival. Independent Film Quarterly describes the film as "Waist Deep meets Crash".
The running time is 97 minutes: the film is rated R for strong graphic/nudity, violence including rape, drug use and language.
