When contemporary artist Lore was asked why she became an artist she said: "I love the feeling of freedom when I start creating abstract work, there are no rules, I put whatever I feel on the canvas, I feel that creation is unlimited, as if I am putting the energy stored inside of me, and it is releasing on the canvas in front of me. I feel a sense of relaxation as I put this on canvas. Many times I feel as if I have this electricity, this energy that has to come out and I feel that it does when I create an abstract painting. Once it gets on canvas I feel a sense of relief that this has come out."

Lore continued: "Unfortunately I have so much stored inside of me that I don't see how a lifetime is enough to express all of it. Like an athlete that exercises and the energy comes out, I feel the same when I paint an abstract painting. If things are not well, when I am painting I am in my own space and no one can take that from me. I feel that I am safe and strong when I am in my world of art. I feel that I can conquer the world and there is no barrier or limit to my reach. That is why I create art."
