Aquarion Water Company Sponsors Tee Shirt Competition to Commemorate 150th Anniversary

Contest is open to students in grades six through eight in service areas.

BRIDGEPORT, CT (PRWEB) March 21, 2007 -- Aquarion Water Company is sponsoring a "Water for Life" Tee shirt Contest to commemorate its 150th Anniversary. The competition is open to students from grades six through eight who reside in Aquarion Water's service areas in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York, company officials announced today.

The competition coincides with a scholarship contest for graduating high school seniors in Aquarion Water's service areas. A team of Aquarion Water Company employees and Customer Advisory Board members will serve as judges for both competitions.

"Water is one of our most precious and valuable natural resources, and our young people are the key to conserving and maintaining the future water supply," said John J. Herlihy, director of water quality and environmental management. "Aquarion's water science education program is one of the ways that Aquarion helps consumers recognize the link between human activity and its impact on our water resources," Herlihy added.

Tee shirt guidelines and templates have been provided to schools in Aquarion Water's service areas. There will be one winner, per grade, per state. The winning designers will be identified on the shirts, which will be reproduced for the winners' classmates. The deadline for all tee shirt entries is Friday, May 4th at 5 p.m., and they should be forwarded to Jennifer Bernheim at Aquarion Water Company, 835 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
