We are excited to win this significant assignment from DISA
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 20, 2007
Core180, Inc., a leading network integration firm, has been selected as the sole network subcontractor and bandwidth manager to assist Virginia-based Arrowhead Global Solutions, Inc. to implement its part of a $3 billion connectivity assignment for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN).
The DISN Access Transport Service (DATS) is a 10-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a three-year base-period and seven one-year options. DATS will offer the network capacity to support applications to include unclassified voice, data and video capabilities for the military.
Under DATS, Arrowhead and Core180 will cover the Northeast and Southeast regions of the U.S., providing leased-access transmission services connecting some 500 military bases, reserve stations, posts and camps. Contracts were awarded in late October, following a competitive review.
Core180 Instrumental in Arrowhead's Win:
Beyond partnering with Arrowhead to execute this effort, Core180 helped Arrowhead to prepare its winning proposal, which details an innovative plan linking circuits from a variety of sources including cable companies, CLECS, private networks and local Bells.
"We are excited to win this significant assignment from DISA," said Lisa Belt, Arrowhead's Project Manager for the DATS contract. "Core180 enabled us to deliver an innovative solution that provided us a clear competitive advantage to traditional networking models. We look forward to working with Core180 to create a highly efficient connectivity network for the U.S. military."
Moving forward, Core180 and its many proprietary tools and technologies will help Arrowhead to create and manage leased, upgraded and expanded terrestrial bandwidth services. Ultimately, Core180 will supply transmission services supporting bandwidths up to OC-192.
"While Core180 manages many important projects for the government and various corporations, the DATS effort with Arrowhead promises to be a true milestone for our growth as a company," said David Baule, Core180's CEO. "We were pleased to partner with Arrowhead on this opportunity and we are confident that, together, we can make the DATS project a state-of-the-art network that meets and exceeds the military's present and future communications needs."
