Gametime Athletics has expanded into the global fashion industry with the release of the Face Off, a footwear collection that personalizes a digital image of a face on each side of the sneaker and inside its' sole. A sneak preview of the Face Off started to generate consumer buzz when seen first in January at the 2007 Southern Entertainment Awards where Gametime Athletics released a limited edition sneaker for the southern-based award show.

The company's design strategy for the Face Off footwear collection is led by Jamien Sills, Creative Director for Gametime Athletics. The Face Off is a design that targets the youth marketplace with its cutting-edge fashion. "Now you can design your own shoe. It can look exactly how you want it to. Your own creativity is the only limitation" says Sills. "It's something that's never been done before and something that other companies may not be capable of. The market is moving to (where) everybody is customizing shoes, but this is something that people aren't doing. People love it, especially record labels, entertainers and DJs."

A multi-custom brand, the Face Off collection includes the Lyric, a sneaker that features a rapper's face and 16 bars of their hottest lyrics in a bottom of clear sole. The Lyric version of the Face Off, engineered by Edward Bogard, Senior Designer at Gametime Athletics, is in sample artwork production only and features famous faces to convey the branding capability of footwear designed by Gametime Athletics.

Based in Memphis, an established manufacturing and distribution capital and growing entertainment hub, Gametime Athletics received notoriety in April 2006 with the release of its M-Town and Memphis Grizzlies shoe collections. The company has since expanded its offerings through global distribution networks as an attempt to contribute to the urban fashion culture with its innovative designs and printing techniques. Owner Checliss Rice hopes the Face Off collection will emerge Gametime Athletics as a trendsetting retailer. "It's fly and that encompasses a lot. The shoe is very fashionable. It's new, fresh, and trendy. It's one-of-a-kind because it's a personal shoe. The individual that's buying it gets a shoe to fit their lifestyle. It's their whole look and their personality wrapped up in a shoe" says Rice, whose face is imaged on the Face Off sample shoe. "We're on our way to becoming a major player. We want to be the company that people can depend on to give them what they want."

Within the upcoming months, Gametime Athletics will release the Life Saver collection, a colorful spring line of footwear and apparel available now for preview and the City Scape collection, an edgy summer line of denim jeans featuring a cityscape in metallic embroidery set to launch in June.

Custom orders or inquires for the Face Off shoe collection can be made at 901.312.3160.
