Elizabeth "Libby" Thompson, RN, MSN, has been named Editor-in-Chief of OR Nurse 2007. The new bimonthly professional journal is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, part of Wolters Kluwer Health. The new peer-reviewed journal provides content to 45,000 perioperative nurses, managers, and directors.

Thompson is currently a Nursing Education Specialist in the Division of Surgical Services - Department of Nursing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she develops competency curriculums and leads educational programs in perioperative nursing. Prior to this she worked as a Core Supervisor at Mayo Clinic, and as a staff nurse in various areas including Infusion Therapy, Cardiovascular Surgery, Surgical Listing, and General Surgery.
