Colorado Bioscience Association Launches Colorado Springs Chapter

The debut of the Colorado Springs Chapter of the Colorado Bioscience Association (CBSA) occurred yesterday at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS). The announcement is made by Denise Brown, CBSA Executive Director, who says UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley hosted the chapter launch event.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 29, 2007 -- The first meeting of the Colorado Springs Chapter of the Colorado Bioscience Association (CBSA) occurred yesterday at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS). The announcement is made by Denise Brown, CBSA Executive Director, who says UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley hosted the chapter launch event.

According to Brown: "The Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation is our partner in this effort. Colorado Springs is definitely a growing medical device cluster, especially as it relates to component manufacturing. The new group will focus on opportunities to support existing companies, recruit new ones and to assist UCCS in strategies to commercialize their promising technologies."

"The establishment of the CBSA Chapter in Colorado Springs just confirms what we already knew - that our community is an excellent place for bioscience companies to do business. With over 25 bioscience companies already here and more in the pipeline, we will continue to invest in this industry as we see it as a vital part of our future," Mike Kazmierski, President and CEO, The Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation (CSEDC), says.
