Artistic Director Stephen Wargo and Managing Director Joseph Guidetti announce the opening of Personal Space Theatrics' (PST) Fifth Anniversary Season with Myth America, a unique new piece of ensemble playwriting, direction and acting conceived and curated by Mr. Wargo. This world premiere features the writings of award winning playwrights Arthur Kopit (Nine, PST's BecauseHeCan), Theresa Rebeck (The Scene, Omnium Gatherum), Israel Horovitz (Line, The Indian Wants the Bronx), Rachel Axler (Archaeology, The Daily Show), Ian Cohen (Lenny & Lou, Vattago), Brian Dykstra (Clean Alternatives, Hiding Behind Comets), Jason Grote (1001, This Storm is What We Call Progress), Matthew Paul Olmos (Seal Sings its Song, The Vampire Lesson), Julien Schwab (PST's rogerandtom & Nicotine), Saviana Stanescu (Lenin's Shoe, The Inflatable Apocalypse), and Lloyd Suh (Masha No Home, American Hwangap). Myth America is co-directed by Nicholas Cotz (PST's BecauseHeCan) and Adam Fitzgerald (kef productions) with set design by Becca Lord, costume design by Kathleen Leary, lighting design by Martin Vreeland and sound design by Christopher Rummel. Myth America will play April 14-28, 2007 at the TBG Arts Center, 312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York City.

Myth America invites audiences to take a tour through the eyes and voices of Americans from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds as they live out their American dreams and myths both accomplished and crushed with expectations exceeded and unfulfilled. From the Old West to Ike's 1950's and continuing through the 21st Century, this ensemble-driven piece examines the vast range of America's Melting Pot and our conflicting views and values. Icons, idols and symbols are examined and explored - running the gamut from baseball (The Great American Pastime), to Marilyn Monroe, to the modern family unit and even the acquisition of the perfect vacuum. The idea for Myth America came to Mr. Wargo as an ambitious opportunity to allow multiple writers, directors and a flexible ensemble of actors to create a collage of creative voices to emerge in a large-scale discussion of American identity. A group workshop process involving all the writers has produced a complete evening, ordered and curated by Mr. Wargo, where each writer's voice and work blends together in an integrated, seamless whole.

This ensemble piece stars Sean-Michael Bowles, Darian Dauchan, Vivia Font, Rich Fromm, Ann Hu, Kenneth Maharaj, Rob Maitner, Margo Brooke Pellmar, Lori Prince, James Saito and Stewart Steinberg.

Tickets ($10.00 - $20.00) can be purchased via SmartTix.com. Previews Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th are only $10.00 as well as Ten Dollar Tuesdays April 17th and 24th. Myth America will play Tuesday & Wednesday at 7pm, Thursday-Saturday at 8PM, Sunday at 2pm and 7pm.
