Bretton Woods, NH (PRWEB) April 3, 2007 -- Bretton Woods Director of Skiing, two-time Olympic Silver medallist and 2005 FIS World Cup Champion Bode Miller looks forward to his return home to New Hampshire. To mark the transition of winter to spring and to celebrate its own local hero, The Mount Washington Resort is hosting BodeFest 2007, presented by HEAD USA. This ski event, slated for April 13-14, will challenge four-person teams to see how close they can come to Bode's time in a modified slalom race event! Bode Miller will be in attendance and anticipates being joined by several other members of the US Ski Team. All proceeds raised will benefit Bode's own charity, the Turtle Ridge Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and creating programs that solve difficult environmental, health and economic issues, and the Bretton Woods Adaptive Program, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities.

This year's BodeFest Ski Challenge will prove to be another high-energy weekend. Events on Friday, April 13th include a chance for young skiers to get some skiing tips along with photos and autographs with Bode on Bretton's Wood trail from 4:30 -5:30 pm followed by a Kids' Camp that will include a variety of fun-filled activities throughout the evening. Bode will mingle at both the Kids' Camp and the adult activities that will include a beer tasting sponsored by some of the area's finest local micro-brews: Tuckerman's, Peak Organic, Moat Mountain, Woodstock Brewery, & Trout River, along with partying to a reggae band, Jah-N-I Root, and an abundance of appetizers.

On Saturday, April 14th the festivities will continue with team check-in and a racer's breakfast. Bode will be on hand for last-minute pre-race pointers. Starting at 10:00 a.m. an exciting modified giant slalom course will test the metal of four-person teams for the fastest time of the day. Following a tasty barbecue on the lodge's outdoor deck, all ski competitors will have a chance at a second run to better their time. The afternoon will offer a photo and autograph session with Bode, an awards ceremony and a silent auction with proceeds donated to TRF's charitable causes. Silent auction prizes include a VIP trip to a Bruins game and autographed Tom Brady memorabilia.

Saturday night wraps up with an evening's Kids' Camp pizza party where Bode will read stories to younger kids and offer a Q&A session for teen racers. Adults will enjoy a lavish evening that begins with a celebrity-studded cocktail party followed by dinner and dancing to Boston-based band, French Lick, featuring Celtics CEO and Owner Wyc Grousbeck on drums. A live auction featuring prizes like attendance at the World Cup opener in Beaver Creek and a Celtics Dream Experience for eight will be offered, among other highly prized items.

"When we started BodeFest three years ago, the goal was to have a great time on the slopes with all of my friends and fans at Bretton Woods," said Bode Miller. "The event has grown and, with the creation of the Turtle Ridge Foundation in early 2006, so has our ability to make an impact. This year's BodeFest presents us with a tremendous opportunity to raise awareness, support and contributions for worthy causes that directly benefit people in need and the community at large."

Adult participation in BodeFest 2007 includes night skiing, brew tasting and entertainment on Friday night as well as a full day lift ticket, racer's breakfast, barbeque, BodeFest Après Ski Party, awards ceremony & dinner on Saturday for $150 per person. The junior rate of $130 per person includes Friday's Kids' Ski with Bode, night skiing, Kid's Camp entertainment and Kid's Only dinner, and on Saturday, a full day lift ticket, Kid's Camp, barbeque, awards ceremony and a Kids Only dinner and entertainment.
