NetQoS Establishes Scholarship for Louisiana Tech University Engineering Students

Annual scholarship to award College of Engineering and Science students interested in making a career in network performance management.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 3, 2007 -- Strengthening its Louisiana Tech University roots as well as its commitment to the field of network performance management, NetQoS® Inc. has established an annual $2,000 scholarship for students in the College of Engineering and Science.

According to NetQoS CEO and co-founder Joel Trammell, an alumnus of Louisiana Tech and a Ruston native, the scholarship is an important investment for NetQoS: “NetQoS has strong ties to the University, with several Tech graduates working here, and the College of Engineering and Science is always an integral part of our recruiting program for both employees and interns. We are proud to establish this scholarship to support deserving students planning to make a career in the rapidly growing field of network performance management.”

“When industrial partners such as NetQoS identify themselves with the College of Engineering & Science at Louisiana Tech University, they communicate that industry IS concerned with engineering and science students and their careers,” said Dr. Stan Napper, dean of the College of Engineering and Science. “These partners help students to think about their choice of future occupations and the contributions they might make to their chosen profession.”

Beginning with the 2007-2008 academic year, the $2,000 per year NetQoS scholarship will be awarded annually and disbursed quarterly. Eligibility requirements include:

  • Any student within the College of Engineering and Science
  • Junior or Senior standing
  • Grade point average of 3.25 or higher

To apply, students must complete the Louisiana Tech General Scholarship Form, write an essay about their reasons for pursuing a career in network performance management, and submit a current resume. All applications and supporting materials must be received on or before May 30, 2007.

To apply for the scholarship or obtain more information, contact Matt Miller at 512-407-9443 or email him at Matt.Miller @ netqos.com.
