Award-Winning Artist McKenzie Paints Grammy Winner John Mayer for Charity

Artist McKenzie, winner of the ARTV Fine Art Awards for Mixed Media, paints Grammy winner, musician John Mayer to raise funds for The Grammy Foundation.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) March 30, 2007 -- Artist McKenzie, known as "The artist making a difference", has released her award-winning original mixed media painting, "Heart of Life" to be sold to raise funds for The Grammy Foundation.

"John Mayer is one of my favorite musicians. He plays music from his heart; the same way that I paint. I believe that music and art come from the same place in the soul. I am so happy to help raise awareness and funds for the Grammy Foundation through my art," says Artist McKenzie. "Their mission is amazing."

The mission of The Grammy Foundation is to cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded music to American culture -- from the artistic and technical legends of the past to the still unimagined musical breakthroughs of future generations of music professionals. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through programs and activities that engage the music industry and cultural community as well as the general public. The Foundation works in partnership year-round with The Recording Academy to bring national attention to important issues such as the value and impact of music and arts education and the urgency of preserving our rich cultural heritage.

McKenzie has begun her quest to raise over $1 million dollars for humanitarian and green causes using her art as a catalyst. "McKenzie is well on her way," says Manager Steve Rice, "She has already raised tens of thousands of dollars; AND with the new program to donate 100% of the profits from the website's sponsors -- She should achieve her goal in less than a year!"

McKenzie has already raised money and awareness with her art for the Amberwatch Foundation, The Humane Society, The Red Cross, SaveDarfur, Global Green and many, many more.

In addition to the original mixed media painting, the McKenzie Gallery is releasing a limited edition series print on Endura metallic paper. The mounted print is 20" x 30" and is signed and numbered by the artist. 100% of the profits from the sales will also benefit The Grammy Foundation.
