West Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) April 5, 2007
http://www.07webaward.org - The Web Marketing Association, host of leading web site awards competition WebAwards, released the Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the internet service provider (ISP) industry learn to create more effective and engaging web sites.
"As the standard of excellence for web sites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective web site," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. "The best ISP Web sites don't just sell products and services; they educate the users and help them to understand how to get the most from their online experience."
The WebAwards competition judges ISP web sites on seven criteria that combined create award-winning web sites:
- Ease of use
Internet Service Provider web sites are generally in line with overall Web Development, however, they have seen a significant decline in total industry averages scores for the past two years.
ISP sites actually received the dubious honor of scoring the lowest total score among all industries judged in 2006.
According to the ISAR study, interactivity and technology are ISP web sites' stronger points. They tend to have the lowest scores for content, design, and innovation.
The 2006 WebAward for Best Internet Service Provider web site went to eSiteful Corporation for EV1Servers.
Other past winners include:
- 2005 Verizon Consumer Fios Web site Team for Fios Internet
- 2004 Verio for Verio Global IP Solutions
- 2003 AT&T Worldnet Service for AT&T Worldnet Service Registration Movie
- 2002 Verizon Online ADG for Verizon.net Redesign
A complete list of past winners can be found at ISP.webaward.org.
