Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 3, 2007
Streaming Faith (http://www.StreamingFaith.com) joins the world in mourning the passing of the leader of the fourth-largest Protestant denomination, Church Of God In Christ Presiding Bishop G.E. Patterson. After years of battling prostate cancer, Bishop Patterson died from heart failure on Tuesday, March 20, at the age of 67, at a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was elected to lead the international denomination of the Church Of God In Christ in November 2000 at the 93rd Holy Convocation.
Patterson founded the Temple of Deliverance in 1975 and grew the membership to over 13,000 by the year 2000. A newly constructed 5000-seat Worship Center and recognition as one of the country's fastest growing churches was also achieved in 2000. Known globally for his religious teaching, spiritual grounding, strong leadership and business savvy, he was one of the first ministers to share God's word through the medium of television. Bishop Patterson helped the denomination grow into a membership of over 6.5 million members around the world.
The Streaming Faith family will continue to remember the Patterson family, the COGIC ministers and members worldwide in our prayers during this time of bereavement.
