Home PC Networks joins the Geek Housecalls family, adopting the light-hearted Geek Housecalls image while offering serious relief to frustrated Windows and Mac computer users in the North Shore area.

Geek Housecalls, Inc. today announced it has acquired Home PC Networks of Peabody, Mass., in response to increasing demand for computer help in the Massachusetts North Shore region. As part of the acquisition, Geek Housecalls has brought aboard Joe Riess, the founder of Home PC Networks, as a full-time Windows and Macintosh cross-over geek. This acquisition strengthens Geek Housecalls' presence in the north shore and Cape Ann areas.

Andy Trask and Dave Ehlke, Geek Housecalls' co-founders are as thrilled as any proud parents could be with the new addition to the family.

"Joe is no stranger to Geek Housecalls having operated as a subcontractor to the company for the past three years," says Andy. "There are great synergies between Geek Housecalls and Home PC Networks that have really given us an opportunity to get to know Joe and his working style. He has strong technical skills and even more importantly, is well-liked and trusted by Home PC Networks and Geek Housecalls customers alike. It's been quite a cooperative relationship."

"The time is right for this," adds Dave. "We're coming into our spring season and looking forward to heavy demand as the school year winds down and kids start arriving home from school with PCs and laptops that are pretty messed-up thanks largely to web culprits like viruses and spyware. It's the time of year when families often re-evaluate their home computers and decide whether to replace older PCs, or call for a service appointment to get cleaned up and running in preparation for heavy usage during the upcoming school vacations."

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to help grow Geek Housecalls in my home area, and equally excited to offer Home PC Networks' customers the expanded flexibility and responsiveness of Geek Housecalls' famous same-day or 24-hour service response," says Joe. "Also, having access to the knowledge and experience of the 35-plus geeks on the Geek Housecalls staff will certainly help me bring "world-class" professional computer service into the homes and small businesses of my North Shore neighbors."
