Given the continued importance of legacy applications to organizations worldwide, Zephyr is pleased to announce the pending certification of its PASSPORT PC to Host® terminal emulation software for Microsoft® Windows® Vista®.

Featured in PASSPORT 2007, currently scheduled for release this summer, the state-of-the-art terminal emulation represents the next step in host access, and includes expanded security options, enhanced FTP file transfer, an improved end user experience, greater Attachmate® compatibility and much more.

With the Windows Vista certification, PASSPORT 2007 complements the important new management and security features found in the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Users migrating to the new Microsoft platform will find PASSPORT to be the ideal connectivity solution to reach valued IBM® mainframe (3270), AS/400 (5250) and UNIX (VT, SCO ANSI and Wyse) host applications. Advanced TN3270E, TN5250E, VT220, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60 and FTP clients are included in the Zephyr terminal emulation package.

Organizations that plan to migrate to Windows Vista, and that will require an upgrade of their older terminal emulation software, particularly Attachmate EXTRA!® or IBM Personal Communications®, should consider PASSPORT 2007 as an alternative.

The Vista-designed terminal emulation from Zephyr can be licensed for considerably less than comparable Attachmate or IBM solutions and can support existing screen-scraping applications written for Attachmate EXTRA! or IBM Personal Communications. PASSPORT 2007 also includes extensive scripting capabilities and Zephyr features free macro conversion for accounts with large numbers of Attachmate or IBM macros.

For existing PASSPORT users, Zephyr has made it easy to migrate from older versions of PASSPORT to this major upgrade. All end user preferences, including keyboard layouts, keypads, macros and screen attributes (such as colors, hotspots, etc.) can be retained and reused from previous versions of PASSPORT terminal emulation.
