Freestone Partners Completes Investment in Sweet Leaf Tea

Houston-based private equity firm, Freestone Partners, completed its capital investment in Austin-based beverage favorite Sweet Leaf Tea.

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 2, 2007 -- Houston-based private equity firm, Freestone Partners, LLC, recently completed an investment in Sweet Leaf Tea, an Austin-based producer of bottled, ready-to-drink iced teas. The company's products are available at major grocery retailers nationwide.

"Freestone Partners has been great to work with, as each partner brings a unique skill set to the table," comments Clayton Christopher, CEO and founder of Sweet Leaf Tea. "They are active investors - a claim made by many private equity companies, but practiced by very few. Their involvement in helping manage our business has been invaluable, especially to a small company like ours. They have made strategic introductions, and generously opened up their network of contacts. Their willingness to be personally invested and involved is what sets them apart."

Freestone invested alongside Houston-based food industry veteran Craig Lieberman. Lieberman and Roy Jones, a principal with Freestone, sit on the board of Sweet Leaf Tea.
