Art publisher, industry partners and digital technology provide archival canvas prints "on-demand", priced competitive to canvas transfers and distributed over the Internet.

Miami, Florida - April 3, 2007 - CDM Publishing today announced Creative Art Editions (, a new collection of high quality, open edition canvas giclee prints. This collection features art on canvas previously available only as paper posters, including images by leading décor artists Paul Brent, Jillian Jeffrey, Susan Osborne, John Kime and others.

Creative Art Editions was developed and priced after extensive market research into the increasing demand for canvas products in the décor art market. Images are printed using the same digital printing techniques the company developed over several years as printmaker for leading limited edition giclée publisher Greenwich Workshop and other clients.

Using an "on-demand" workflow, canvas prints are produced only when ordered, eliminating inventory costs. This allows greater flexibility and customer choice. Each image is available in a wide variety of sizes, as well as a choice of canvas or watercolor paper. As in the production of limited edition giclées, UV-protected, pigmented inks are used. This results in archival prints that literally last a lifetime. Independent testing rates prints created with Creative Art Editions' combination of inks and media at greater than 100 years before noticeable fading (

The overall result is a giclée-quality product that is superior to canvas transfer, while priced virtually the same. The canvas product doesn't need glass or matting, giving the customer the look and feel of an original painting.

Creative Art Editions allows art and frame galleries to offer a high-end product that is comparable in quality to limited edition giclées, but at more reasonable prices. For example, a typical oversized print, sized 36" x 48", has a suggested retail price range of $300 - $350. This allows galleries to offer a finished product with stretcher bars and frame for $600 - $700. This compares to limited edition giclées that can retail for four times that amount.

Creative Art Editions was developed in cooperation with major art industry partners. Leading décor poster publisher Gango Editions (Portland, Oregon) facilitated licensing of many of the artists and images in the Creative Art Editions catalogue. The company also provided guidance in the product development process.

Additional partnerships and Internet technology streamline distribution. Internet e-commerce retailer Art Select ( recently began featuring giclée canvas prints from a variety of publishers, including Creative Art Editions, making the product available on hundreds of web sites. Internet wholesaler Lieberman's (, offers the product direct to galleries and framers. Making use of its own web development experience and resources, Creative Art Editions is also offered direct, wholesale or retail, at the company's web site (
