Mira Zivkovich, a leader in heritage and multicultural marketing, President and CEO of MZI Global Marketing and founder of the Slavic Heritage Coalition is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor to be presented on May 12, 2007 on Ellis Island. She has been chosen by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, among other recipients from various heritage groups, to receive this honor because of her contributions to various charitable causes and her devotion to her ancestral group and dedication to preserving the multicultural diversity of American society.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 9, 2007 -- Mira Zivkovich, a leader in heritage and multicultural marketing, has used her abilities and resources as President and CEO of MZI Global Marketing to promote social responsibility and awareness for various organizations and multicultural communities. She has been chosen by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) receive the Ellis Island Medal of Honor on Saturday, May 12, 2007. Each year, NECO awards the Ellis Island Medal of Honor to outstanding individuals who portray a lifestyle dedicated to the community, exhibit interests for the preservation of cultural groups and to those who share and contribute through personal and professional achievements toward the overall benefit of society. Ms. Zivkovich is also the founder of the Slavic Heritage Coalition which promotes the contributions of Slavic-Americans to American society.

Zivkovich grew up in Belgrade, Serbia, the former Yugoslavia, and immigrated to the United States as a teenager in the late 1960s. She was eager to launch a successful career and fulfill the American dream. Through hard work and determination, Zivkovich was able to obtain a marketing internship at the retail giant K-Mart. The company was struck by the quality of her work and her abilities that they offered to sponsor her visa under the category "exceptional ability", which is typically reserved for top scientists. With her new lifestyle in the United States, Zivkovich expanded her success and created her own marketing firm, which she currently directs as President and CEO.

Zivkovich has successfully transferred her leadership experience at her firm to assist critical social issues. "Our pro bono work allows us to help others and reaffirms our core company values. We believe good business should be meaningful, which is why MZI is committed to improving communities and the world," says Mira Zivkovich. She directs this philosophy in everything she does by speaking for the voices that cannot be heard and for donating the time and energy to various compelling causes over the years.

People with whom Ms. Zivkovich has worked are quite taken with her expertise in marketing and even more by her ability to care. Carl J. Morelli, Chairman of the American Foundation of Savoy Orders and Partner in the law firm, Morelli & Gold says, "She (Mira) has charisma and an emotional power that moves and influences people for the benefit of humanity in any form, and above all she as a marketing talent of 'painting the story that needs to be told' in such a compelling way that no matter what charity it is, she touches the 'heart and soul' of its community."

"She has an enlightened approach, advocating stewardship, empowerment, and social responsibility, coupled with the spiritual philosophy and moral principles that is a prime example of how values, responsibility, commitment, service, integrity, openness, and idealism can lead people of any community -- and Mira did just that with our Serbian community," says the Very Reverend Father Djokan Majstorovich. Zivkovich's contributions to society and her local community have surpassed those of others. She is a dedicated enthusiast who can honestly say that she has worked to serve those who are unable to do so for themselves.

Because of her many achievements and her ability to touch communities through her personal and professional achievements, Zivkovich will be honored at this year's ceremony on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in New York City. Zivkovich will join the honored ranks of past recipients such as former American presidents---Bill Clinton, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford as well as other famed individuals such as Frank Sinatra, Donald Trump, Lee Iacocca, and Barbara Walters.
