Mira Zivkovich, a leader in heritage and multicultural marketing, has used her abilities and resources as President and CEO of MZI Global Marketing to promote social responsibility and philanthropy for various organizations and multicultural communities. She was conferred the title of Dame Commander (Dama di Commenda) of the Order of Merit of Savoy at the Convocation of the Dynastic Orders of Savoy in Geneva, Switzerland for her many personal and professional achievements and charitable contributions.
The Order of Merit of Savoy is a Dynastic Order of the Royal House of Savoy bestowed by the current Grand Master, Prince Victor Emmanuel, Duke of Savoy, upon individuals whose special and particular achievements in various fields of endeavor have made them worthy of recognition or who have worked to benefit the House of Savoy and its institutions. The Order of Merit of Savoy stems from the Civil Order of Savoy, founded by King Charles Albert of Sardinia in 1831.
Ms. Zivkovich's roots can be traced to the Krajina territories of Hapsburg Austria during the Ottoman Empire conflicts in the Balkan region where her great-grandfather held the title of Baron Jovan Zivkovic during the Austro-Hungarian period. Her diverse family history and background instilled a love of culture and a deep understanding of the powerful role that heritage and customs play in people's lives. That understanding turned into a lifelong quest to bridge cultural divides--a quest that culminated in the founding of MZI Global Marketing http://www.mziglobal.com.
Zivkovich grew up in Belgrade, Serbia in the former Yugoslavia and immigrated to the United States as a teenager in the late 1960s. She was eager to launch a successful career and fulfill the American dream. Zivkovich established her own marketing firm which she currently directs as President and CEO.
Zivkovich has successfully transferred her leadership experience at her firm to assist critical social issues. "Our pro bono work allows us to help others and reaffirms our core company values. We believe good business should be meaningful, which is why MZI is committed to improving communities around the world," says Mira Zivkovich. She directs this philosophy in everything she does by speaking for the voices that cannot be heard and for donating the time and energy to various compelling causes over the years.
Her work includes web development http://www.savoia.org and she recently published two books (print and online) for the American Delegation of Savoy Orders: "Royalty & Remembrance" and "The Dynastic Orders of Knighthood and Merit of the Royal House of Savoy" http://www.savoydelegation-usa.org/book.html.
People Ms. Zivkovich has worked with are quite taken with her expertise in marketing and even more by her ability to care. Carl J. Morelli, Chairman of the American Foundation of Savoy Orders and Partner in the law firm, Morelli & Gold states, "She (Mira) has charisma and an emotional power that moves and influences people for the benefit of humanity in any form, and above all she has a marketing talent for 'painting the story that needs to be told' in such a compelling way that no matter what charity it is, she touches the "heart and soul" of its community."
In addition to the honor bestowed by the Royal House of Savoy, Zivkovich will be honored as a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor at this year's ceremony on Ellis Island on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in New York City. Zivkovich will join the honored ranks of past recipients such as former American presidents--Bill Clinton, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford as well as other famed individuals such as Frank Sinatra, Donald Trump, Lee Iacocca, and Barbara Walters.
