Ultralingua, Inc., the Minneapolis based language technology company, announces its collaboration with Collins Dictionaries, a UK subsidiary of HarperCollins. The two companies are producing an extensive line of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries for several desktop and mobile platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, Palm, Windows Mobile, and Symbian. The Collins brand has long represented the gold standard in bilingual dictionaries, and this collaboration joins Ultralingua's experience in development and user interface design with the time-honored content Collins has to offer.

The dictionaries are expertly edited, rich with examples and usage notes: they are the perfect companion for students, travelers and translators. Special features include a dictionary hotkey for popping up translations or definitions within a browser or other window, a verb conjugator, and the ability for users to add their own entries.

The first offerings of the Collins line are already on line at http://www.ultralingua.com/collins; trial versions are available for free download. The current product line includes translation dictionaries for French, German, and Spanish, as well as English dictionaries of definitions and an English Thesaurus -- all on multiple platforms.

Ultralingua is the only language company in the world to cover all major platforms and languages.

During 2007 HarperCollins and Ultralingua will release more titles, covering even more platforms.
