Con Pepsi tu tienes el Control
Lima, Perú (PRWEB) April 3, 2007
"El Dúo de la Historia", Wisin & Yandel established a record by attracting over half a million users fans to access the "PepsiMundo" website and for registering more than 100,000 to witness a concert through the Internet.
Wisin & Yandel arrived in Peru in the wee hours of the morning to complete the last leg of their interactive promotional event "Con Pepsi tu tienes el Control" (You have the control with Pepsi). This campaign lasted six weeks and its purpose was for Peruvian Pepsi consumers to get a code under the bottle caps of the soft drink to register and be able to access the live concert that "El Dúo de la Historia" would offer in Trujillo and Lima. The fans also voted for Lima and Trujillo to be the host location of the Third International Reggaetón Festival.
Mirko Astudillo, Marketing Manager of PepsiCo in the Andean region of Perú stated that the company had produced similar promotional events with other artists. Just to compare, Pepsi also had a campaign with Colombian singer Juanes, in which around 45,000 fans registered, meanwhile the Wisin & Yandel promotion doubled that number.
"We have used this as a platform to reproduce similar events in other South American countries with the intention of creating stronger bonds with the younger slice of the market and we understand that Wisin & Yandel have been perfect for the role, because they have surpassed our strategic expectations", stated Astudillo.
On the other hand, in the press conference in Lima, Perú, Wisin & Yandel thanked Pepsi for the trust that has been given to them and for the love and support from the Peruvian public.
"We have been through a lot to reach this point of our careers and recognize that we are nobody without our fans, that's why we are always thankful of you and the only thing left is to give you a superb show as you deserve, we are going to do our very best" the duo stated emphatically.
The euphoria of the Peruvian people with the arrival of Wisin & Yandel is evident and a great example was Mr. José Luis Salazar, a 42 year old paraplegic man whom waited at the outside of the hotel from 3:00 pm of the day before to hand his Reggaetón Idols a plaque he made himself. Also hundreds of fans awaited their arrival in the airport just to catch a glimpse of the creators of "Pam Pam" and "Llamé Pa' Verte". The Webcast can be accessed at http://www.pepsimundo.com and will consist of the first 12 songs of the concert in Lima, Perú which will be held at the Jockey Club starting at 10:00pm.
After wrapping up their commitments in Perú, the dup will travel to Chile to participate in a concert with Don Omar and the "Estadio Nacional" (National Stadium). Afterwards they will travel to Venezuela to fulfill other commitments and after that, they will travel to Spain to record the video for "Torre de Babel" with David Bisbal.
