As a Panel Sponsor of the conference, Scala hosted a pre-conference workshop entitled "Content is King!: Designing and Building Engaging Content to Meet Unique Media Needs for your Digital Signage Deployment". Jeff Porter, Executive Vice President and Greg Shandel, Business Development Director presented the four-hour workshop. The workshop addressed:

  • Understanding how dynamically generated content can help reduce production costs
  • Response to reporting and trends with efficiency
  • Dynamic response to POS, inventory and metrics to modify and tweak sales programs
  • Reporting data successfully by creating real-time composites and backgrounds

Later in the agenda, Jeff Porter led a panel discussion comprised of Scala InfoChannel customers Scott Homan, Director, Public Displays for AccuWeather and Herb Albinus, Corporate National Merchandiser for ADI. The panel discussion was entitled "Panel Discussion: Choosing The Right Vendor Partners For Your Digital Signage". The discussion addressed the issues of:

  • Understanding how to build a DS system from scratch with the best solutions and vendors to help you succeed
  • Discussing issues you need to discuss to secure the right partners to meet your objectives

In addition to the presentations delivered by Scala, other Scala InfoChannel customers provided presentations on their individual InfoChannel installations; presenters included Ann Palmer of American Honda Motor, Warren Harmon or Mayo Clinic and Tim Tang of Hughes Network Systems, LLC.

The conference was a huge success with over 110 industry professionals enrolled for the conference.

"The state of the digital signage industry has grown significantly", says Gerard Bucas, President and CEO of Scala Inc. "It was only a short time ago when vendors dominated the information provided at industry conferences, now the industry has matured to highlight the successes of end-user installations around the globe".
