Bimini, Bahamas (PRWEB) April 5, 2007
Bimini Bay Resort and the Bahamian Culinary Team will join forces at the First Annual Bimini Bay Resort Food Festival, taking place on April 28, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. The upscale resort community in the Bahamas -- located only 48 miles east of South Florida -- features 135 vacation rentals comprised of condominiums, loft-like treehouses and single family homes plus amenities that include a full-service marina, infinity pool, grille, Swedish and Thai massage services, children's playground and a fine dining restaurant overlooking the ocean.
The Food Festival will offer guests an assortment of activities and mouth-watering Bahamian food in a laid-back bayfront setting and will feature seven interactive cooking stations with cracked conch, grouper, conch fritters, jerk fish and more. Additionally, carving stations will include sirloin, rack of lamb and pork. Joining the Bahamian culinary celebration will be the official crew of ESPN2 who will feast on Bahamian classics while filming the popular "tag-and-release" series BXRL07, Billfishing Xtreme Release League Tournament, competing in the $2 million "winner-takes-all" event. The BXRL (Billfishing Xtreme Release League) Flotilla is being organized from South Florida to Bimini Bay Resort.
Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children. Bimini Bay Resort rates range from $250 per night for a studio, based on double occupancy, to $950 per night for a four-bedroom oceanfront home. Bimini Bay Resort is a short 20-minute plane ride or 1.5 hours by boat. Details regarding departure and return of the organized Flotilla are being determined.
