Boston, Mass (PRWEB) April 5, 2007 -- Kaminski Auctions, one of Massachusetts' premier antiques and fine art auction houses, announces their Annual April Auction. The auction will take place Sunday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m., with an on-site preview offered between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
This outstanding auction will feature several estate collections, 18th-century heirlooms from the Hannah Davis family of Concord and Bedford, Mass., as well as fine colonial furnishings returned home from California to their origins in New England.
The Annual April Auction will offer an opportunity to discover estate collections from Manchester-by-the-Sea, Essex, and Sudbury, along with family heirlooms, colonial furniture, jewelry, mirrors, fine art, Persian rugs, ceramics, and much more. Some highlights from this sale include two rare, 19th-century photos of firemen in full uniform; an exceptional 19th-century, golden oak, tall case clock with an unusual music box movement inscribed "J.E. Caldwell & Company, Philadelphia" (Est. $12,000 - $18,000); and a colonial-era, Concord, Mass., tall clock (Est. $7,500 - $12,500) by Joseph Mulliken. According to one source, Joseph Mulliken (1765-1802), of the distinguished New England family of clock makers, only made about 20 clocks in his lifetime.
Also included in the sale is a 19th-century Tibetan brass Buddhist sculpture; an 1880 rococo revival, heavily carved walnut armchair with dolphin feet; a 1980 bronze sculpture of a kneeling nude woman by John Terken, a student of Paul Manship (Est. $10,000 - $15,000); and a rare, early 19th-century Salem McIntyre mahogany card table with molded edges. There will be a 15-percent buyer's premium when bidding with Kaminski, or a 20-percent buyer's premium when bidding with eBay Live.
"It is a real pleasure to offer collections from surrounding estates in our April auction as well as pieces that have traveled across the country," comments Frank Kaminski. "We have had a great deal of interest in this auction, with recent consignments that will be of interest to our collectors. We're happy to accept consignments from a single piece to an entire estate. Our role is to help people achieve the highest return for their valuables."
