Ultra-Fast Frame Rate Infrared Camera Enables Temperature Measurement in High-Speed Applications

Electrophysics® Introduces the Silver infrared cameras, setting a new price standard in Infrared Imaging for Demanding R&D and Thermography Applications.

For many infrared applications requiring high accuracy and precision at fast frame rates, Electrophysics has introduced its high-performance Silver infrared (IR) cameras. Sleek and modern in design, the Silver infrared cameras uniquely combine high sensitivity performance and fast frame rates.

Based on an ultra-sensitive 320x256 InSb focal plane array sensor, the Silver cameras deliver 20mK sensitivity while keeping an extraordinary dynamic range and high linearity across the 3 to 5μm mid-wave spectral range. These cameras incorporate an integral 27mm lens, featuring motorized focus and optional extenders that provide the application-specific field-of-view and target geometry. The Silver cameras also feature low noise 14-bit digital electronics and user performed calibration, providing fully-radiometric IR imagery at any selected integration setting.

Unique to the Silver cameras is its frame rate. Electrophysics offers two Silver models which have fully programmable frame rates, 1Hz to 100Hz for the Silver 420M and 1Hz to 400Hz for the Silver 450M. Both models also offer user-friendly and flexible sub-windowing modes, which are adjustable in 1 μs increments. In 80x60 sub-window format, users can capture infrared images at up to 1,000Hz with the Silver 420M and up to 20,000Hz with the Silver 450M. The Silver IR camera can also incorporate an optional internal filter wheel that accepts up to four separate 25mm OD x1mm filters for viewing sub-spectral ranges.
