Hollywood Celebrities Favor Long, Straight Hairstyles - New Relaxer Offers Low pH Approach

While Hollywood celebrities frequently change their style, the current trend is toward relaxed, soft waves with a sweeping, side part. Until now, however, traditional chemical relaxers have limited the frequency of texture changes, and high alkaline (high pH) lye and no-lye relaxers require long periods between re-applications. What many women are looking for now is a natural product that won't damage their hair or cause breakage. Curlaway® Curl Gel answers the need for a low pH, non-damaging relaxer - one that is gentle enough to use on children's hair.

(PRWEB) April 6, 2007 -- While Hollywood celebrities frequently change their style, the current trend is toward relaxed, soft waves with a sweeping, side part. Until now, however, traditional chemical relaxers have limited the frequency of texture changes, and high alkaline (high pH) lye and no-lye relaxers require long periods between re-applications. For many, the best solution has been to rely on wigs and hair extensions for a full, straight or bouncy hairstyle.

Carol J. Buck, CEO of Xenna Corp., manufacturers of a new type of relaxer says, "What many women are looking for now is a natural product that won't damage their hair or cause breakage. Curlaway® Curl Gel answers the need for a low pH, non-damaging relaxer - one that is gentle enough to use on children's hair."

What many women are looking for now is a natural product that won't damage their hair or cause breakage. Curlaway® Curl Gel answers the need for a low pH, non-damaging relaxer - one that is gentle enough to use on children's hair.
Curlaway Gel is a new, patented relaxer that offers more flexibility and styling choice. Rather than rapidly restructuring the hair by breaking disulfide bonds, Curlaway's method simply rotates the disulfide bond anchors and loosens hydrogen bonds within the hair shaft so that curl is gently released. Keeping the matrix intact, hair is fortified by a combination of natural moisturizes within the gel, including castor oil, grapeseed oil, MSM and DL-panthenol (Vitamin B-5).

Curlaway products are safe to use on chemically-treated hair, including straightened, permed, color-treated and bleached hair. Curlaway straightens hair on a semi-permanent basis. Relaxation lasts 3 to 8 weeks, depending on hair type, and curl gradually returns once use of the product is discontinued.

In 2-5 applications Curlaway Curl Relaxer turns tight curls into S-curls and makes hair respond quickly to a ceramic straightening iron. With continued use, S-curls become wavy curls and, eventually, straighten out completely. The more Curlaway Relaxer is used, the straighter hair becomes.

Some prefer to use the gel as a leave-in overnight treatment, others use it daily as a hair conditioner. But with either method (or combining both) the process is gradual to assure that your hair is never damaged. Because Curlaway is gradual, a couple of weeks may be required to notice results.

Buck says, "Many people email us asking if Curlaway is anything like Rio or Copa, which turned out to be very damaging for hair and follicles. Curlaway Relaxing Gel is completely different than these products. The ingredients responsible for hair relaxation in Curlaway Gel are from fermented wheat and corn.

We respect the fragility of hair and want it to relax at a very slow pace so that it retains its luster, body and bounce. Our goal is to see very tight curl straighten slowly to waves then finally look like oriental hair. This is possible with regular use of Curlaway."

The company's research suggests that fragile, naturally dry hair requires gentle handling and extra moisturizers daily, which is why Curlaway was also formulated to be used as a daily leave-in moisturizing-relaxer which can be applied just to roots to "train" them to match the loose waves or ringlets achieved with overnight treatments.

One jar is enough for 6 to 8 treatments and sells for $19.99. Xenna Corporation also offers a money-back guarantee.
