National provider of online fitness and nutrition coaching announces spring schedule of free interactive web seminars for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Two of six seminars will focus on preparing cyclists for ADA's Tour de Cure. Web seminar leaders are Certified Diabetes Educators.
New York City (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- A team of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) including exercise physiologists, registered nurses and nutritionists will provide information and answer questions on how to stay healthy with diabetes during a series of one-hour web seminars/call-ins sponsored by Fitness4Diabetics.com. This continues a series of free interactive web seminars designed to help people with diabetes achieve better health through a combination of physical fitness and healthy eating in conjunction with medication.

This spring, Fitness4Diabetics.com is partnering with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and will offer two special web seminars on April 12 and May 31 specifically designed to prepare cyclists for ADA's Tour de Cure. The Tour is a series of cycling events held in more than 80 cities nationwide that benefit the ADA, The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist.

Thursday April 12th, 7 PM (EST): Getting Ready for ADA's Tour de Cure
The Fitness4Diabetics.com team of nutrition and exercise experts will help riders who have registered for the Tour de Cure prepare for their ride. Training and nutrition tips for people with either Type1 or Type 2 Diabetes will be provided, and individual questions will be answered. Beginner, intermediate and advanced cyclists are invited to join this very special seminar on the web.
Wednesday April 18th, 7 PM (EST): Stress!! ~ Effect on Blood Sugar & Management Tips
Most people who live with diabetes most likely experience the dramatic effect that stress can have on their blood glucose control. Our expert panel will discuss the influence that stress has on physiology, health, and glycemic control. Participants will learn some simple stress management techniques to assist in improving blood glucose control.
Tuesday, May 1st, 7 PM (EST): Fitness Facts!
Our team of experts will discuss the health benefits of aerobic training and the special care people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes need to take to be successful when progressing their fitness to the next level. Special focus will be given to balancing blood sugar.
Thursday, May 17th, 7 PM (EST): Diabetes in the News!
Amazing discoveries in the world of diabetes are bringing us new treatment options, new technologies, and we are ever closer to a cure. During this web seminar, participants will learn about some of the newest approaches, the latest research and the exciting breakthroughs.
Thursday, May 31, 7 PM (EST): Getting Ready for ADA's Tour de Cure

Information on tapering training & preparing for tour day will be provided. An Ironman with Type 1 Diabetes will share his inspiring story. Thursday, June 21st, 7 PM (EST): Taking Care of Your Own "Sweet Heart"
The relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease is significant. This interactive web seminar will provide guidance on what individuals can to reduce their personal risk. Participants will join our team of experts in a discussion on the most recent guidelines for heart disease prevention including cholesterol and blood pressure management, and the roles nutrition and exercise play in keeping hearts healthy.
