What makes a successful logo? Maxi-media design firm theMechanism was honored to have three logos featured in the latest book by author and graphic designer, Leslie Cabarga. "The Secret Life of Logos: Behind the Scenes With Top Designers" showcases a spectrum of logos (including rejected versions of each logo) allowing readers to determine what leads to a successful design. Featuring hundreds of logos never seen before, the book visually showcases the creative process behind each logo's development, and the behind-the-scenes decision-making done by designers and clients.
"About a year ago, we spoke with Leslie after learning that he was putting together a book describing where the final solutions for logos come from," said Dave Fletcher, Founding Partner and Creative Director of theMechanism. "Our interest was sparked when we discovered that he was not only gathering attractive and successful logo solutions, but was also including the conceptual design ideas and thinking leading up to the final outcomes."
The book was published by HOW Books and is available through Amazon.com and in bookstores worldwide. "theMechanism is thrilled to be a part of a book that goes way beyond the simple eye-candy tomes that litter the bookshelves at the local book shop," said Anthony Shafto, Managing Partner, UK / Design Director at theMechanism. "It's the type of book that we would have on our office shelves even if we weren't in it, and that says volumes about the content contained within."
