Dallas area based alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) are gearing up to host their popular annual conference on Saturday, May 12, 2007. The conference will feature well known speakers and panelists from industry and academia and will cover a wide range of interesting topics, ranging from Technology to Entrepreneurship to Social Change and Leadership. There will also be ample networking opportunities among the expected 250 or so attendees. This conference is sort of a mini pre-cursor to the global IIT Alumni Conference scheduled for July 6-8 in Santa Clara, CA, featuring speakers like Jeff Immelt of GE, Senator Hillary Clinton and Arun Sarin of Voadfone.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 14, 2007 -- The Indian Institute of Technology Alumni Association of North Texas, (IITNT) based in the Dallas metroplex area, is organizing its Third Annual One-Day Conference on Saturday, May 12, 2007, entitled "The New Knowledge Economy -- Global Trends and Opportunities." The conference will be held at the Inter-Continental Hotel in North Dallas.

The goal of the annual conference, attendance to which is open to all, is to bring technology and business leaders together to explore opportunities and examine the challenges in the global knowledge-based economy. The conference will provide a forum to discuss strategies for entrepreneurs and professionals in the D/FW community to deal with change and successfully thrive in this rebounding environment. It will also provide ample networking opportunities for alumni and non-alumni attendees to "Connect, Explore, and Enrich."

"This event is IITNT's signature alumni event in the area, and one which we are very proud to put together," said Dr. Raj Menon, President and co-founder of the IIT Alumni Association of North Texas. "The event brings forward volunteer alumni leaders from our membership base, to plan, organize and execute this one-day conference," he continued. This is IITNT's third annual one-day conference, with the previous ones being held in April 2004 and November 2005, respectively.    Each year, the conference is supported by various corporations, universities as well as venture-capital firms. According to Dr. Menon, "This year's conference promises to be bigger and better than previous conferences. A very large group of extremely dedicated volunteers have worked very hard to put together a fabulous program, outstanding speakers and panelists, and exciting networking opportunities for everyone. Our previous conferences have usually been "sold-out" events. This year will be no different, so sign up soon ..." he added.

Early registration is now available by clicking http://www.123signup.com/register?id=xfyxj [here.]
