New Push-To-Set™ (PTS) Suction Regulator Improves Patient Safety Patented Push-To-Set™ Eliminates Need to Occlude Patient Tubing to Set Accurate Vacuum Levels

Ohio Medical has incorporated its patented Push-To-Set™ (PTS) technology to provide a revolutionary feature that automatically occludes the vacuum flow while the device is being adjusted so that the gauge accurately displays the peak vacuum. When the adjustment knob is released, the system returns to flow, meaning the product will provide the lowest maximum pressure with the highest flow while potentially preventing tissue damage.

GURNEE, IL (PRWEB) April 7, 2007 -- For over 40 years, Ohio Medical has been the leading manufacturer of medical suction/vacuum regulators in the U.S. market. These devices are used at the bedside in hospitals for regulating the vacuum (suction) applied to a patient for the removal of fluids and secretions. Although not classified as a critical care device, suction regulators are the most critical device in managing airways and gastric fluids to prevent aspiration pneumonia as well as many other applications.

One of the biggest problems with setting suction pressures is clinicians often forget to occlude the flow while adjusting the level to verify the peak vacuum setting. The result of this is that the maximum vacuum will be higher when applied, potentially causing tissue damage.

Ohio Medical's new vacuum regulators provide the solution for this ongoing clinical problem with its patented Push-To-Set™ (PTS) feature by providing a revolutionary feature that automatically occludes the vacuum flow while the device is being adjusted so that the gauge accurately displays the peak vacuum. When the adjustment knob is released, the system returns to flow, resulting in a product that provides the lowest maximum pressure with the highest flow - potentially preventing tissue damage.

Additionally, Ohio Medical incorporated a few more exciting features.

  • Quick-To-Max - Only two turns to full wall vacuum.
  • Stat-Set-Up -Intermittent mode starts in the "ON" cycle, meaning no more waiting.
