Dog Lovers Get Training Advice -- From a King

The founder of the leading dating site for dog lovers -- www.doglover.biz -- announced today that its members will now get free advice from top dog trainer Rex Makemson.

Driffiled, East Riding of Yorkshire (PRWEB) April 8, 2007 -- The founder of the leading dating site for dog lovers -- www.doglover.biz -- announced today that its members will now get free advice from top dog trainer Rex Makemson.

Said Derek Collinson: "The name Rex is of Latin origin and its meaning is king. Given Rex's vast experience of dog training and his qualifications you could say with some justification that Rex is the King of Dog Trainers."

Rex has always been a natural communicator with dogs and bonded well with several throughout his life. However, when taking a dog to a training class, he witnessed the instructor employ bullying techniques on a dog to attain a required position. Feeling disgusted, he walked out of the class and immediately looked for ways of teaching dogs through kindness and positive-training techniques.

A visit to the renowned trainer Sue Hough in Newmarket for advice convinced Rex that dog training was his life's path. So inspired was he by this visit that he immediately started attending courses with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, as well as studying dog behaviour. Then he invited the Association of Pet Dog Trainers to attend his classes for assessment and received a 98% pass on his training and understanding of individual dogs and breeds.

Besides his private, problem-solving visits to households, Rex is the local RSPCA's trainer and behaviourist, and he volunteers to see any owners of re-homed dogs to help sort out problems. In doing this, the dog-return rate has dropped massively. In addition, Rex has his own obedience-training school (www.pawsobedience.co.uk) -- which is Kennel Club-listed, as well as being listed by many rescue organisations and veterinary practices. He teaches an average of 150 dogs every week in his dog-obedience classes, who in turn have achieved many qualifications with the Kennel Club. He is also a consultant to an Australian Animal organisation on the Sunshine Coast.

With his business partner Donna Garrity, he owns and runs a Dog Hydrotherapy Unit and helps dogs with pre-operative and postoperative problems. The many recommendations they receive from Vets ensure they are kept very busy.

Said Rex: "The training is very rewarding, and with the addition of the RSPCA and the hydrotherapy work, I have a busy -- but wonderful -- time. It is amazing how you feel when you see an untrained dog be successful or a limping dog walk properly or a rescued dog happy in their new home."

Derek added: "Rex will be appearing later this year with Victoria StilIwell on BBC TV 's 'It's Me or the Dog, and I can promise you this episode will be one of the most entertaining ever."

Apart from seeking his advice on any dog behaviour or training issues, single, female-dog lovers please note that Rex is single and a member of www.doglover.biz. So if you'd like to date a King...
