Greenville Giving Group Turns Fashion into Compassion for Delaware Charities
Greenville Giving Group raises $15,000 for Delaware non-profit organizations through fashion sales.
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) April 9, 2007 -- The Greenville Giving Group, recently formed by four Delaware women to raise money for local charities through the sale of luxury clothing, announced today that it will make its first donations totaling $15,000.
The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, The Fund for Women and the Delaware Theatre Company will each receive $5,000 gifts from the organization.
"Our primary mission is to raise funds for local charities", said Stacey Bacchieri, who joined with Zig Carota, Lisa Vague and Yvonne Vinton to form the Greenville Giving Group. "Collectively, we each have charities dear to our hearts and we decided to come together as a group to fundraise. Each partner brings their own expertise to the group and we believe that we have developed a unique and effective way of supporting those charities."
The group sponsors in-home trunk shows, four times a year, of the Bill Blass New York clothing line. The clothing line is available only through home sales and the fabrics and handwork are among the finest available. All profits from the group's sales are then donated to local charities.
"The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. is honored to be one of the first recipients of these donations," said Vicky Cooke, Executive Director of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. "The Greenville Giving Group is a wonderful example of people caring about their community and taking action to help others."
The donations will be presented to the first recipients at a reception on Tuesday, April 10 at 8:30 a.m. at the Krazy Kats Restaurant, Route 100 and Kirk Road in Montchanin, Delaware. The media is invited to attend.
