Donations to Funding Arts Network will make mom proud.

Who first inspired you to draw with crayons and colored pencils? Who brought you to music lessons all through grade school? Who took you to watch the ballet for the first time? Chances are, your mother played the greatest role in developing your lifelong appreciation for the arts. And you've always been grateful to that "special woman in your life" for bringing you so much cultural enrichment.

Now, here is an exciting opportunity to express your gratitude in real terms with a FAN-tastic Mother's Day donation, in your mother's name, to the Funding Arts Network (FAN), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the support of Miami-Dade County arts. Call it a gift of culture for Mother's Day.

"We can think of no better way to make your arts-supporting mom happy this year than by helping us to fund some of the most deserving arts organizations in Miami," said Rachel Blechman, president of FAN.

Mother's Day cards are available from FAN by making a minimum $10 donation to Funding Arts Network. Contact Jackie Leone at wleone(at)bellsouth.net or 305-665-4832. Include your mother's name and address or email address. Cards will then be mailed or emailed to recipients depending on preference.

FAN is Miami Dade's leading non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the visual and performing arts programs through member supported grants to arts providers, capacity-building workshops for grant applicants, and forums for members which foster arts involvement, appreciation, and awareness. During the ten years since FAN's founding, almost $2 million in grants have been awarded to support diverse visual and performing arts programs in Miami-Dade County. Last year, 30 new grantees were selected to share in $200,000 in grants. For more information, visit http://www.fundingartsnetwork.org.
