Cheers & Severino Productions Ready To Make 'Motown Memories' Again

Local Youngstown event production team of Jim Cheers and Carl Severino is putting their combined entertainment industry experience to bring Motown Memories to Youngstown and beyond!

Youngstown, OH (PRWEB) April 11, 2007 - Jim Cheers has come a long way from his childhood as the self-described "Temptations Mascot" during the Motortown Reviews at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. As one half of Cheers & Severino Productions, Cheers and his partner Carl Severino are responsible for bringing the "Motown Legends Tour" to the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown on May 19. The concert spectacular will feature The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards, The Miracles, The Contours and Spyder Turner.

Cheers drew his inspiration for the "Motown Legends Tour" from the popular Motortown Reviews of the 1960s. Back then, you could see a star-studded cast of great Motown acts for an inexpensive, all-inclusive cost. Acts worked hard to keep the stage "hot" for the next group. Cheers hopes to bring that same level of excitement with this first lineup of acts.

Both Cheers and Severino have extensive history with the music industry. Cheers previously worked for Capitol Records as Regional R&B promotions manager for the Midwest & West Coast and later became the National Marketing Manager/ Disco Director, working with a broad range of music legends like Natalie Cole, A Taste Of Honey, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Peabo Bryson, Tavares, Nancy Wilson, The Steve Miller Band, Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet Band, and Paul McCartney and Wings.

Severino is a local entertainment and promotions personality who began his career as a singer and bandleader of The High Guys and Carl Severino & East Coast. He later handled operations for Conneaut Lake Amusement Park. He is also the major force behind an ongoing project called "Return to Idora Park," which aims to restore an iconic amusement park in the Youngstown area.

The acts will begin the road trip to Youngstown at Hitsville (the current Motown Museum) in Detroit. In the 1960s, all Motown Reviews started at Hitsville, where the artists' families and friends would send them off in grand fashion. Jim Cheers comments, "the Motown reviews at the Fox theatre will always be an indelible part of my musical history. This show will rekindle some of the greatest memories of my youth, and serve to remind me why I chose the music business as a profession."

Cheers intends to recreate the same exciting atmosphere he experienced back then at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Future tours featuring even more Motown acts are in the works.

Tickets for the show are available at GetTix.Net and the Chevrolet Centre Box Office at $39.50 and $49.50, which is an incredible price for a show of this magnitude. For more information about the Motown Legends Tour, please contact Tanisha L. Jackson at 412-519-4072.
